The woman behind the passport

Hi, I'm Elle — a mum of three, a wife, and a 9-to-5 IT Sales professional based in the DMV. For years I lived the busy corporate life, and somewhere along the way I realised something that stopped me in my tracks: we're taught to spend more of our waking hours with colleagues than with the people we love most. That wasn't the life I wanted.

So Somewhere With Elle became my getaway — a way to spend more time with my kids while they're still young, to keep family firmly at the centre, and to hold onto the thing that has always brought me joy: travel.

I'm biracial, and my heart is split across the world in the best way. My British side gave me a love for Europe; my Filipina side gave me a deep love for Asia. I was fortunate enough to get to see these places, and I never wanted to keep that to myself — I wanted to share it with everyone, whatever their budget or passport.

That's also why I started Letters From Somewhere Beautiful. I wanted something more personal than a screen — to actually send you a physical piece of each place I've been that month. A little take-away you can hold in your hands, a gift — what we call pasalubong in Tagalog — plus little surprises and freebies tucked inside. And yes, my Christian faith is part of who I am.

This brand is my thank-you to a life that let me wander, and my small way of giving something back. I'm so glad you're here.
